Good news. Plus info about swimming pool entry

I am very much aware that sometimes it feels like you are receiving less for your community fees but that is the way of the European economy in general, not Sol Andalusí Community in specific.   But I am pleased to say that there are two reversals to that trend.

1. Good newsI have had lots of positive comments about the fact that recycling is now offered along with the rubbish collection.   In theory there should be a saving as we no longer have to pay for use of a van or Enrique from security, but unfortunately the gain is simply lost in other community costs.  As we do not receive all the fees, we are always short of funds.

2. Even more good news.
After months of administrative setbacks with Vodafone, we have a wi-fi network for the Community Office.  Unfortunately few of you will be able to pick it up from your apartments but it if your own system lets you down, or you want to log on for a short time, eg, to book a flight or check email, you can have free access within a small range of the office (but not in it!) Ricardo can give you the password.  Bear in mind that the sofas and the area outside the Community Office are part of the medical centre, so please treat with respect and don’t leave rubbish or cause any inconvenience to the doctor.  And please don’t give the password to non-residents as our hotspot will only support a small number of users at once.

Entry to Swimming pool
Apologies for the short notice but from July onwards you will need an ID card to gain entry to the Fase 1 Swimming Pool.  Fase 2 have said they will open their own pool in July and therefore we intend to limit use of our pool to Fase 1 residents and their families and Sol Andalusí Fase 1 clients.
I strongly urge all of you to “do your bit” to monitor who is using our pool.  Just like my earlier bleat about the economy, the problem about who uses a pool is not unique to Sol Andalusi.  Few systems are foolproof.
If you are doubtful about someone, do ask the lifeguard or ask them yourselves.  If necessary remind the lifeguard that it is your community fees which pay his wages and also that there are plenty of other lifeguard companies who would like the work.  The lifeguards are contracted to check who is entering the pool.
Cards will be available from the Community Office from 1st July.  If you cannot collect in person you will have to send an email or letter to Ricardo at:  comunidad.solandalusi@gmail.com authorising someone else to pick it up for you.

Please note the following:
Each ID card is valid for either 3, 4, or 6 people depending on property size.
Each property will be issued with two cards.
Each ID card is numbered so that we can record the issue of them.  If you lose your card Ricardo will have to know the number of the lost card before it can be replaced.
If you have given one to a holiday renter it is up to you to make sure you always have the spare one to give to incoming clients if the outgoing renter has lost theirs. Cards will not be replaced or issued over the weekend. It should also be noted that new cards cannot be issued on the day that they are requested.
The ID cards will be laminated and it is expected that they should survive the summer.  If you have holiday rentals in your apartment it is up to you to stress that you must have the card returned to you at the end of the stay.  (I intend to ask my clients for a small deposit.)
The grassed area is chained off as before and is intended for permanent residents only and not for holiday lets.
